Jennifer
Olsson's Split-Cane Signature Rods are built in three
pieces to accommodate air and land travel needs. The rods
are aesthetically
pleasing; flame treated to a beautiful honey-brown color, with
truncated nickel silver ferrules, burgundy wraps, a western
style cork grip
with rosewood spacer. The reel seat is a Catskill HLL style with
a downlocking nickel-silver, straight knurled slide band,
butt cap
and cork check (also known as the Leonard style reel seat). Every
rod comes with a custom rod sock sewn by Jennifer. The rod
tube
is brushed aluminum fitted with a brass cap (length –34")
and is covered in a black canvas sock with stitched logo. The
Jennifer
Olsson Split-Cane Signature Rods along with the rod builder, Carl
Anderberg, were featured in the book, Splitting Cane, by Ed Engle,
Stackpole Books 2002, and were favorably reviewed in Fly Rod &
Reel Magazine, July/August 2000.

The Mayfly

Three Piece • Two Tips
The Mayfly is the lightest rod weight in the series. Medium-fast
with a long – progressive action, is suitable on spring creeks
as well as larger rivers. Handles well in short to medium range
distances. Perfect with small and medium sized flies. Delicate responsive
rod for accurate presentations.
The Midsummer
7´9” • # 5 •
Three Piece • Two Tips
The Midsummer has a long progressive action, a nice even bend from
grip to tip, and casts with a medium-fast action. A fantastic rod
in the five-weight class. Covers short to medium range distances,
has been put to the test on spring creeks and western rivers. This
rod was named in honor of the Swedish national holiday that takes
place each June – a time when the grayling are particularly
active in Idsjöströmmen.
The 4th-of-July

The 4th-of-July is the big sister to The Mayfly and The Midsummer.
Casts well in short-medium to long ranges. A powerful progressive
action, fast and responsive. Unloads line smoothly and with force.
This rod handles heavier flies, wind, and bigger water with ease.
The Castilleja

• Two tips
The Castilleja is built with a true parabolic taper, allowing the
rod to arc deeply into the butt section. Medium-fast action, smooth
powerful action and roll casts like a dream. This rod was designed
with deep nymph fishing in mind. It lifts long line easily. Named
after Jennifer's favorite wild flower found in the high mountain
meadows of Montana (the common name for Castilleja Linariaefolia
is: Indian Paintbrush).
The River Keeper

Piece • Two Tips
The River Keeper is the longest rod in the series. It features
a powerful progressive action. The length of this rod does not
compromise
ease of use. It is well balanced, lifts long line easily, and handles
long reach mends flawlessly. Works well at short distances too.
